FMNN wanted to run a VIP Early Access Sale for Black Friday.
Their VIP sale included:
- 20% off sitewide
- Free Shipping
- Exclusive early access only for subscribers
They needed a system that would:
- Allow both discounts to apply together
- Show reduced pricing immediately when a user landed on the store
- Only unlock the offer for subscribers who received the VIP email link

The Challenge
Shopify has two limitations related to their plan:
1. Shopify doesn’t allow stacking:
- Free shipping + product discounts
- Multi-buy discounts + free shipping
- Percentage discounts + auto-apply shipping
So FMNN could not run their exact offer using normal Shopify features.
2. Subscribers who click an email usually still see “normal pricing”
If a shopper clicks a VIP email, Shopify loads the PDP or collection at normal prices unless a code is manually added which often leads to:
- Pricing confusion
- Abandoned carts
- “The discount didn’t work” complaints
FMNN needed the correct pricing to appear instantly on landing.
FMNN used Hype’s Discount Combinations + Segmented Offers to deliver their VIP sale exactly as planned.
1. Combination of Two Discounts
Hype allowed FMNN to combine:
- 20% Product Discount
- Free Shipping Discount
Both were merged into one seamless VIP offer.This is normally impossible in default Shopify.
2. Email-Only VIP Access Link
FMNN used their popup to collect emails for early access. Anyone who subscribed received a VIP access link in their inbox.
Hype detected these users when they clicked the email and:
- Activated FMNN’s VIP offer
- Unlocked the combined discount
- Applied everything automatically
- No codes needed
3. Live Pricing Across the Store
Once the email subscriber clicked the VIP link, Hype updated:
- Product Cards
- Collection Pages
- Product Pages
- Cart
- Checkout
All pricing changed instantly and consistently. This fixed FMNN’s main issue where visitors previously saw full price even after clicking a promo email.
Customer Experience

When a VIP user landed on FMNN’s site:
- They saw 20% off displayed directly on product prices
- “Free Shipping” was already active in checkout
- No discount code was required
- Pricing was consistent from PDP → Cart → Checkout
One click from the email gave the shopper everything automatically.
